Veronica is our head of Research and Development and the light and inspiration that keeps all of our team going. Whenever there is a low time or a bad day, we know that our girl Roni is going to be there to help cheer us up. You’ve fallen in love with her articles on entrepreneurship and relationships but now it is time to take it a little deeper.
Tell us a little about yourself.
Maria Veronica Navarro Cuyugan’s my full name – I’ve never gone by Maria, always by Veronica. I write under Veronica Navarro because Cuyugan pronounced (coo-you-gun) is a doozie for most people. I’m full-blooded Filipina; I’ve got honey on my skin and fire running through my veins 😉 I’m secretly in love with the most amazing man in the world. I like my martinis classic and my workouts dirty.
I’ve made it a habit to do things that scare the shit out of me. I had a fear of heights for decades and decided I was done. This photo is of me climbing a 60-foot pegged wall. After I did this, I wasn’t afraid of heights anymore. Whenever I get the opportunity, I do something that scares me. It’s helped me lean into my edges; resulting in my limits fading away.
Also, I live my life from a perspective of being fearlessly of high service to everyone I come into contact with. The reason I was brought on board to the IC back in August was because I was so inspired by the words throughout the magazine that I was moved to contribute my work. I couldn’t stop wanting to write and give and give and give. I’m still in awe that I was invited to be a part of this incredible team.
What are your dreams and hopes for the people reading this magazine?
I want this magazine and community to help people live to their highest, fullest potential. Make Life Happen are three little words that are so empowering because I think people forget sometimes that they have control over their own destiny. It’s not about what people want you to be or how you deal with the cards you’ve been dealt. It’s about creating your own life; living by your own rules. Making sure that every moment of every day, you spend living and loving your life properly.
Perfectionist – I am obsessed with my work being of the utmost quality. I don’t take myself seriously, but my work means life and death to me.
Outrageous – The bolder, the better, baby! Mediocrity and I don’t mix well.
Workaholic – This speaks for itself. I work, work, work. When I’m not working for the IC, I’m writing my book, or creating strategies for my company.
Exercise – I am addicted to working out. Whether I’m running, practicing yoga, doing HIIT or exploring new ways to burn calories, if I don’t fit exercise into my schedule, you don’t want to be around me.
Relentless – I persevere in things I do, especially the things I’m new at doing or are bad at doing. I don’t stop until I get it, get it! I incorporate a little bit of POWER into my daily life.
