The Indie Chicks, Inc. is so much more than a self empowerment magazine, it’s a lifestyle. We aim to develop and empower the woman’s sense of self and help guide her toward embracing her inner badass in every aspect of her life. No matter who you are or what you do in life, the life of a woman is the same as the next. The moment you wake up, you’re you. But within seconds, a thousand hats are thrown your way and you instantaneously become someone’s wife, someone’s mother, someone’s colleague or sister or friend… And before you know it, that sense of self gets lost in the chaos. Our Mission: This community aims to target that inner badass that lives within us all and empower her enough to get through everything life throws our way. That way she’ll be able to wear each hat as well as the next.

Topics: We touch on everything pertaining to the everyday woman, with a theme of badassery tying it all together. In our attitude section, we discuss confidence boosts and letting go of competition, jealousy and lack of self worth. Other sections discuss everything from entrepreneurship to the 9-5’er and from the married to the single. We spotlight women we admire and we think would serve well as role models to our readers. No matter what you do or how successful you are, there is always something to be learned and there is always inspiration to be felt. Social media driven and constantly evolving, The Indie Chicks is a community for women who crave to be inspired, motivated and most of all, supported in becoming the best versions of themselves.

TheIndieChicks.com, the trunk of the Indie Chick brand, went live in May 2012 and has since evolved into a go-to resource for women seeking self-empowerment. The website tackles issues women face on a daily basis, including: self-confidence, healthy relationship, and a driven career path. We have an extremely engaged community and have built a blogger network filled with some of the strongest writers on the web.

Indie Chick Magazine is our quarterly print publication, launched in January 2014, and is an amplified version of the most empowering content on our website. Filled with a lot of content and very little advertising, it’s nothing like other women’s magazines. You can currently find it in Barnes & Noble and Books-A-Million. Subscribe here.

Indie Chick Lit is our playground for writers. We offer writing, publishing, and blogging tips, and have full author services for both indie and non-indie published authors. Prompts, blog tours, and a growing influential community of writers.

Indie Chick Radio is our newest adventure, launching early June 2014. It’s the same message of self-empowerment, but delivered in more of a laid-back girlfriends kind of way. Every Tuesday at 8pm EST, join Chrystal and Chiara and two special guests as they cover some of the hottest topics relating to women.

Chiara got her start in the blogosphere by dishing out reality slaps on her dating and relationship blog. The brutal honesty that became her signature tone earned her the badass reputation she needed to get The Indie Chicks magazine up and running. She is also a web designer and author of The 9 Mirages of Love. Driven, stubborn, and wildly ambitious, she won’t stop until she is the perfect, self-empowered role model for all of her readers.She dreams in shades of gray, has a terrible sweet tooth, and has embraced the fact that half of what she says during social interactions results in awkward silence. Her friends know her best for her intolerable addiction to all things 90’s, hair metal, chocolate and for her most public addiction of all: coffee. She extremely accessible, give her a shot.

Chrystal Rose is our President and COO, and contributes to the IC on a variety of topics including articles on business and entrepreneurship. Helping women to empower themselves has become a deep passion of hers and The Indie Chicks is the perfect vessel to fuel that passion.

Whether traveling for business or pleasure, Chrystal loves exploring new places, trying new foods and attempting to replicate them in her kitchen at home. Health and fitness is a crucial part of her life and she ensures she makes eating healthy and working out an integral part of her lifestyle. Even though she looks pretty girly, she’s a tomboy in disguise and loves her New England sports teams.

When Chrystal isn’t spending her time on The Indie Chicks, she’s running her own marketing company, leading a Girl Scout Troupe and finding ways she can give back to those who’ve given to her by paying it forward.

Julie Zantopoulos (aka Jewels) is our VP and Senior Editor. Chances are you’ve interacted with her if you’ve contributed to the magazine, or are looking to. Working with the IC writers is a dream job for Jewels who has been a writer all her life.

She is an east coast girl at heart but has a love of traveling and meeting new people. Give her a map, a car, and some music and she’ll happily sing/car dance her way across the country. A die hard Flyers fan, she’s a hockey girl but loves her other Philly sports teams as well.

If she’s not working on The Indie Chicks she’s working on her own blog, According to Jewels, or her first novel. Among her greatest blessings she counts her family and friends and the amazing group of women she gets to work with on a daily basis.
