7 Day Juice Fast Results


My 7 day juice fast is complete! While our 7 day detox article has been one of our most popular, I’m really happy to announce I have finished my fast and am THRILLED with the results! Can you believe I made it out alive? Here are my 7 day juice fast results.

I didn’t fill out day 6 or 7 because they were very much like day 5: filled with clarity, lightness, energy and excitement. If you’d like to read detailed accounts of my days 1-5, check them out below:

How I Look, How I Feel

  • Weight-loss: I went from 132 lbs to 125 lbs. I’m 5’6 so a 7lbs weight loss is really noticeable on me. Brought me back to my regular weight (as opposed to me sporting a brand new bod). This is the body I’m used to and the body I feel most comfortable in, and most importantly, it’s the body that gets me to dance my way into the gym. But most of you know, I didn’t do this to lose weight in the first place.
  • Skin: My skin is radiant, soft and completely clear of any pimples or blemishes
  • Energy: Restored to the max
  • Misc: I feel satisfied quicker, like my tummy is smaller.


If you’re thinking about doing a 7 day juice fast, there are a few things I recommend:

  • Buy a good juicer. Cheap ones don’t do what you need them to do for a fast: leafy greens. 
  • Majority of your juice should be veggie/ leafy greens.
  • Drink as much water as possible. You should pretty much always have water with you. A good rule of thumb is 1 glass of juice, 1 glass of water.
  • Warm and hot water with lemon helps with nausea and a shaky tummy
  • Consider either organic smooth move tea or warm water enemas – the goal is to rid yourself of toxins. Flush ’em out, baby!
  • Pre-cut and prep your fruits and veggies the night before so you can make juice quickly
  • Take the first 3 days off of work or any obligation you may have. I needed 3 days because I was really detoxing and my day 1 and 2 were terrible. If you live a clean, healthy lifestyle, 2 days should suffice.
  • Coming off the fast, stick to raw fruits and veggies and ease into a clean diet.

Doing this 7 day juice fast was the best decision I could have made. I quit smoking for the second time. My first, I quit 3 days after I found out I was pregnant and didn’t start up again well into Luca’s 4th or 5th month of life. I lost enough weight – be it water weight or fat – to remind myself how good I feel when I look good. My skin, complexion.. everything glows. My mood has done a complete 180 – I’m happy, energetic and optimistic. And most importantly? The idea of a healthy lifestyle and treating my body with the love and care it deserves actually excites me. I’m looking forward to playing with new healthy recipes in the kitchen and to have enough energy to play with my son.

Oh and headaches? I have been headache free since day 3 of the 7 day juice fast. I took out 3 bottles of painkillers that had been laying in my purse and smiled.

Fuck you, pain pills. I heal MYSELF!

  1. I love this! My dependency on headache medicine has LONG been something that really worries me. I’m not an every single day taker…but I most definitely don’t go 3 without taking something. So proud of you! Also SO happy to have you back amongst the living…you had me scared those first 3 days. Chiara 2.0 better than ever for 2013….love it.

    1. Yup, that was definitely my standard.. Couldn’t go 3 days without medicine and literally had an anxiety attack if I was out and realized I didn’t have pain killers in my purse. It was badd. I feel like such a brand new version of myself.. It’s CRAZY! Thank you for all the support, Jewels!

  2. Chiara, I’m soooo happy to know you are feeling, and looking so good. Congratulations!

    You’ve inspired me to print out your tips and heal myself as well. I just feel sluggish, and off balance; though I have goals I don’t feel worthy of them because I’m just ‘not myself’, if that makes any sense. I did a great job in giving myself a concussion a few months ago, came up too fast from sketching and banged my head on the corner of the upper door cabinet of our wooden entertainment center and ever since then I get spontaneuos pain behind my left eye. I find that eating black seedless grapes take the pain away within 10 minutes. So I can only imagine what an actual cleanse will do to my entire body.

    1. You don’t really get hungry ! And if you do, just make a juice! As long as you’re using veggies and leafy greens, the juices really satisfy. I found myself making a juice every 2-2:30 hours .. You can make as much as you want! And just make sure you drink a lot of water. Sometimes you think you’re hungry when really, you’re just thirsty!

  4. I am doing a 5 day cleanse (2 raw/3 juicing) with a friend starting tomorrow so I was googling About it, I can’t believe I came across your site! You took the words right out if my mouth… I too am 132 but want to get back to 122-125 where I feel most comfortable. I just started my journey to get back in shape, eat clean, and be healthy. Doing this fast for me will help clean out the crap and send me in the right direction. Thanks for the motivation!!

  5. I’m on day 3 and feeling great! Yesterday was my hardest so far. I’m fine until I start preparing meals and snacks for the kiddos but keep reminding myself it will all be worth it in the end. I was going to do 10 days but might extend it to 14. I did prep my body by replacing 1/2 meals with juice or smoothie the week before and I think that helped a lot. Thanks for the great read!

    Thank you so much for being so detailed about your experience. I am much like you and get terrible migraines. I am on a twice a day prescription for them, but still find myself getting several a week. I have been researching natural ways to heal myself and ran across your blog. I cannot tell you how helpful you were! I am now going to give a 7-day juice fast a try!!! I was just wondering how you are doing now with your migraines? Have they stayed away? I am hoping after the juice fast that I can continue to get the correct amount of fruits and veggies in my body and that will help me from getting the migraines, but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much because I have never found a complete cure! What’s the update of your migraines?


    1. Hi Arin!
      First of all, I am SO glad you’re interested. Only those who lives with migraines can understand how hard it is and how debilitating it can be. After the juice fast, I was headache free for about 4 entire weeks (went from 4 a week)! I am down to about two every couple of weeks and that’s ONLY because I put juicing on hold due to finances. I was also in a bad cycle of rebound headaches caused by all the pain medication. Truthfully, I found that isolating my triggers (mostly food), sleeping a full night’s sleep, and exercising has decreased them exponentially, alongside eating fruits and veggies and drinking fresh juice.

      I think there is an underlining issues for all migraine sufferers and you should try to find yours to treat the root, rather than the symptoms. I hated being so reliant on pain medication. Most of my migraines were stress induced and digestive related, in addition to a type of anemia I have.

      So bottom line, YES, rebooting your entire system IS going to help.. but as you’ll see from my first couple of days, it’s going to hurt a bit. The secret lies in maintaining that healthy lifestyle AFTER.

      And as much as I hate that you’re in pain, it’s really nice to meet others who suffer the way I do – Sometimes it’s hard to see everyone all super healthy living their lives when I wake up 4 mornings a week with a pounding head.

      1. Thank you so much for the information! I am definitely going to try this out! I am hoping to reboot my system like you said and then after continue to try to eat all the fruits and veggies needed to hopefully keep my body going strong!

        Oh how nice it would be to be headache and medicine free! And I definitely agree, it is SO nice to find others who can relate. It is tough to see everyone else have normal lives and to be the one dealing with headaches and migraines all the time. Hopefully this will change things a bit for us! :)

  7. Your blog was the inspiritation I needed to start this cleanse! Thank you!
    I was pretty worried after reading your day 1-3, but my day 1-3 turned out to be no problem. The thing that helped me was a pre-cleanse. For 3 days, I took a 3TBSP olive oil, 2 diced cloves of garlic, juice of 1 orange and 1 lemon shot in the morning, (Nearly barfed every time- brushing your teeth afterwards helps) then waited 1 hour and ate a fruit breakfast. I ate only veggies with sunflower seeds and oil or basalmic based dressing. Three times a day, 1/2 hour before you eat, take an herbal laxitive and psyllium fiber. This is supposed to prepare your liver for the cleanse.
    An alternative to the enema is a saltwater cleanse. Drink 2 pints of warm water with 2 TSP sea salt. Drink at least as much warm pure water. (Don’t make any plans for right after you do this. :)
